Booking BWH Hotels with CLC

BWH Hotels was founded in 1946 by M.K. Guertin, a hotelier with 23 years of experience in the business. In 2019, Best Western acquired WorldHotels and the two companies were combined into the parent company BWH Hotels. The acquisition added approximately 360 hotels and 81,248 rooms to Best Western's brand.

The company first made a name for itself in the economy and mid-scale sectors, but today has 19 brands in a variety of price points from upper economy, to extended stay, to luxury.

Al Balizado, Associate Director of World Wide Sales for BWH Hotels, tells us more about their Earth, People, and Community (EPC) efforts, security and technology initiatives, and the differences between some of their most well-known hotel brands.

Tell us about your different BWH Hotel brands.

We have 19 hotel brands ranging across every chain scale segment from economy to luxury, suiting the needs of guests in every market. From boutique brands like Aiden and new extended stay concepts like @Home – to legacy brands like Best Western and a unique collection of soft brands like BW Premier Collection, each brand offers its own personality, style, and accommodations.

How many hotels do you have in the U.S. and worldwide?

BWH Hotels is a global enterprise, comprised of three major hotel companies-including WorldHotels, Best Western® Hotels & Resorts, and SureStay Hotels. Across these three companies span 19 unique brands, and approximately 4,300 hotels in 100 countries and territories worldwide.

What can a guest checking into a BWH hotel expect?

Guests checking into a BWH Hotels property can expect a clean, comfortable and modern room, along with complimentary breakfast (in most locations), and a warm friendly environment.

Tell us about any special initiatives BWH Hotels is involved with.

At BWH Hotels, we believe we have shared responsibility within our global community. Through our Earth, People, and Community (EPC) efforts, our goal is to strengthen one community at a time by partnering with our hoteliers and providing the necessary tools to enact meaningful change. Our hotel family is deeply committed to implementing environmentally friendly practices, fostering a culture where diversity is celebrated, and giving back to those in need. The values that have shaped EPC efforts are the heart of our organization, representing who we are as hospitality leaders, hoteliers, and associates.

What changes have you made in order to keep up with security, technology, and other amenities in the industry?

From a security standpoint, BWH Hotels is committed to prioritizing and preserving the protection of guest data, and we vigorously adapt to changes in emerging threats. From a technology perspective, we continue to enhance capabilities to better meet the needs of travelers. A few website enhancements include the ability to pay with a combination of rewards points and cash, personalization of the user experience, and new self-service features. We are also working on an enterprise guest messaging partnership that will revolutionize the way guests interact with hotels.

In terms of amenities, we are committed to providing our guests with a superior stay at every point of the customer journey. An example of recent changes we’ve made include guest room improvements such as high-definition smart TVs with a variety of streaming options, enhanced bath products, and a soundproofing design to allow for a quieter, more productive stay.

What do you like most about our CLC guests?

We truly appreciate and enjoy how cordial and friendly CLC guests are. They are a pleasure to serve at check-in, and notify us of any changes to their reservations if need be.

What do you like most about working with CLC?

Working with CLC over the years has been very gratifying. They have been great partners to us, and we have made wonderful friendships along the way. We appreciate their collaboration, commitment and synergy, and we look forward to continuing our partnership for years to come.
