The Hilton hotel brand has been around for over 100 years. It has over 22 brands in over 7,500 hotel locations worldwide. In fact, Hilton hotels are responsible for many of the “firsts” in the hotel industry. They were the first hotel brand to install air conditioning, introduce loyalty programs, launch a website, a mobile app, mobile check-in, and digital keys.
Rebecca Cortese, Director of Extended Stay & Project Vertical Travel, Hilton Worldwide Business Travel Sales, tells us about new Hilton initiatives, new brands for 2024 and 2025, and how Hilton strives to continue to personalize all guest stays.
What sets Hilton’s brand apart from other hotel brands?
Hilton offers a diverse range of trusted brands, including iconic names like Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites, renowned for their consistent product offerings and bundled amenities. The extended stay brands, such as Home2 Suites, provide ample space to spread out and create a home-away-from-home experience, complete with in-suite kitchens, separate living and sleeping areas, and a pet-friendly environment.
In response to emerging business trends, Hilton recognizes the growing demand for blended leisure and business travel. More than ever, travelers are seeking the flexibility to bring along friends or family members on work trips. According to Hilton’s 2024 Trends Report, over a third of Gen Z and Millennial business travelers plan to extend their business trips to include leisure time, while 24 percent of global business travelers intend to bring a companion on their next business trip.
With Hilton’s commitment to comfort and flexibility, all brands are well-equipped to accommodate the evolving needs of modern travelers, whether it's for business or leisure.
What can a guest checking into a Hilton hotel expect?
The goal is to provide reliable and friendly experiences, guided by enduring values and experienced leadership. Hilton’s global portfolio of 22 brands appeals to a wide range of travelers and travel preferences to meet every budget.
What Hilton Hotels initiatives do you take the most pride in?
Our Hilton Honors loyalty program is a big one. Widely acclaimed, it makes travel more valuable, flexible, and personalized for every type of traveler. The perks start immediately after a guest signs up, including points toward free nights, free Wi-Fi during their stay, and special offers and promotions exclusively for members. And of course, Hilton provides loyalty points to CLC guests based on their nightly stays.
What changes have you made to keep up with constantly evolving security and technology?
Hilton maintains robust emergency protocols and communication channels to swiftly address unforeseen situations, with mandatory training for all Team Members.
Although not a standard yet, many hotels opt for elevator key card security to regulate access to guest floors, particularly in larger urban properties. The staffing and deployment of security professionals depends on the hotel management’s directives and the unique, specific security needs of each property.
How else does Hilton cater to guest stays?
When guests travel, they want to stay in shape. Nearly all U.S. Hilton-branded hotels feature at least one Peloton Bike in their respective fitness centers, providing guests with access to Peloton’s world-class instructors and expansive connected fitness content, in addition to the other gym equipment provided.
We also understand furry friends are family too, which is why we’re welcoming four-legged guests at over 5,000 hotels across the U.S. and Canada.
How did CLC Lodging guests assist Hilton throughout the pandemic?
CLC Lodging guests played a crucial role in sustaining the operations of many Hilton hotels, enabling properties to keep doors open during challenging times. For CLC’s invaluable support, the team at Hilton remains deeply appreciative.
How has the partnership between Hilton and CLC Lodging changed the dynamic with your hotel guests?
A robust partnership between CLC Lodging and Hilton paved the way in the direct connect space, a milestone now benefiting other chains. Hilton is actively developing economy brands tailored to meet the needs of CLC Lodging travelers, such as Spark by Hilton and LivSmart Studios.
